'EGO EVADERE ' , oil on linen, 110 x 230 cm.

'Ego Evadere' is the first painting of a new serie in which the contour of my body, or parts of my body , will lead the abstrahation.

'Ego Evadere ' has been part of the presentation of Au! , in the Personal Structures Project at Palazzo Mora , during the Biënnale of Venice 2019.

Pure Orange Gold is used as a methaphore for strength and Pure Yellow Gold as a methaphore for the air that we breath to survive.

The theme for the Biennale 2019 was ' May you live in interesting times ' and the theme in Palazzo Mora was ' Personal Structures Identity '. Apart from that , this painting was the centre piece of the Au! installation in Palazzo Mora.

I started to abstrahize about 30-35 years ago and I used to do portraits and Lanscapes before. When the invitation for this years Biennale came I immediately thought of a painting like this. A painting in which you can see my abstraction as well as my figurative painting for 35 years ago. The body you see is my body ! In through size (I am 2 M. tall) .

I am breaking through the abstract barriers I provided myself with over the last 30 years ,searching for new ' Interesting times ' by re-inventing my own ' Identity' again.

EGO EVADERE is all about strength, force and keep on believing in yourself .The last financial crises was hard, especially for living artists and a lot of them lost believing in theirselves. I just kept on painting for that's what kept me going. In 2016 - 2017 everything came together : first in 2016 an museum exhibition called ' the most remarkable Dutch Abstract Artist of the last 25 years' and in 2017 the invitation for Venice this year aswell as being part of the core-collection of the Museum MUSIOM in Amersfoort. Invitations for exhibitions came in again and all turned back to , more or less, normal . However I learned a lot from the years 2007 - 2017 and that is I will survive, EGO EVADERE .

In the installation of Au! , EGO EVADERE is the moment where pure realistic painting (from the left) ,transforms into abstraction .
